Schubert's 'Tragic' Symphony and Mozart's 'Paris' Symphony are performed by the Vienna Philharmonic under the baton of Nikolaus Harnoncourt at the Wiener Musikvereinsaal in 1984. Harnoncourt goes back to Schubert's original manuscripts to perform the music in its purest form. Harnoncourt joined forces with The Chamber Orchestra of Europe for Mozart's last symphonies (Nos. 39-41), performed at the Wiener Musikvereinssaal in 1991. Known throughout the world for his highly original approach to classical music, conductor Nikolaus Harnoncourt reveres Mozart as 'the most romantic composer of all'.

Bellini's "Norma" is a classic of the bel canto tradition, combining lavish vocal splendor with a story of great passion and nobility. The title character in "Norma" is a role with emotions ranging from haughty to desperately passionate to vengeful and defiant. Italian soprano Fiorenza Cedolins is one of the most thrilling Normas of the younger operatic generation. Along with a distinguished supporting cast, including Sonia Ganassi as Adalgisa and Vincenzo La Scola as Pollione, this psychologically staged production by Francisco Negrin, conducted by Giuliano Carella, makes the belcanto tradition vivid and exciting.

Virtuoso violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter created a sensation at Berlin's Neue Heimat venue, recreating the impact of her legendary 2013 Yellow Lounge appearance, when she attracted one of the biggest crowds in the history of Deutsche Grammophon's ground-breaking "classical-goes-clubbing" series. Now she's pushing the electric atmosphere to the limit by making the first-ever live Yellow Lounge recording. The ?ground-breaking project, co-produced by Deutsche Grammophon and ZDF, is set for global release in August, with German TV broadcasts in the summer and autumn, and a special documentary to follow in 2016. Deutsche Grammophon President Mark Wilkinson welcomed Mutter's return to the Yellow Lounge: "Last night, in Berlin, a part of classical music changed for ever. Anne-Sophie Mutter is breaking down boundaries, and taking risks without compromising her art - ultimately pushing on a door through which we hope others will follow."

"These soulful Spanish & Argentinean songs arranged by violist Kim Kashkashian & pianist Robert Levin are well suited to their expressive & expansive playing. Most of the songs, ranging from works by Granados, de Falla, & Montsalvatge to early Ginastera, are written in a late romantic to early modern idiom, & many incorporate a strong folk element. The selections include rowdy, rhythmically charged dance-like songs, tender lullabies, & many flavors of love songs, from the exultant to the despairing. In addition to the better-known composers, Argentineans Carlos Guastavino & Carlos López-Buchardo make extraordinarily fine contributions. The choices of repertoire are excellent; each one of these songs is a jewel, & the ordering of the selections artful, including the surprisingly effective repetition of two songs at different points in the program. The transcriptions are inventive & imaginative, with the vocal lines idiomatically adapted for the viola's expressive capabilities."

"The Greatest Hits, So Far mines the singles PiL released through 1990. Ten years after its release, it was doubtful that a second volume would surface (the '90s saw one lone studio release, not to mention a John Lydon "solo" record), so thankfully Lydon didn't embarrass himself by titling it "The Greatest Hits, Volume One." That said, not many outfits under the guise of one name can boast a collection of singles so diverse & ranging in quality..."

"This is not a George Lynch best-of or anthology. This is a two-disc collection of outtakes, demos, collaborations, & other assorted goodies designed to appease the most die-hard of Lynch fans. Selections from Dokken & Lynch Mob as well as his earlier b&s like A, the Boyz, & Xciter are all here, but the second disc is where the metal gems truly lie. Collaborations with vocalists Stephen Pearcy (Ratt), Vince Neil (Mötley Crüe), & John Corabi (also formerly of Mötley Crüe) are all fun little sessions & definitely add to the quality of the set. At two discs, The Lost Anthology would be a bit much to h&le for those who aren't true Lynch fanatics, but those who are will be pleasantly surprised at how well this maps out Lynch's evolution as a guitarist over three decades."
